My Time in Town
Fall- Credit: Julia Solonina/Unsplash

Now autumn is here
With leaves falling down
There’s only the church
And me in this town
A single church road
Black gate at the ready
The wind whips my hair
As I try to stay steady
My camera is pointed
At the beige and dark grey
I snap off a shot
And I’m on my way
My camera returns
To the bag at my side
Now what to do next
I need to decide
I sit under a tree
Full of yellow and brown
As the leaves start to fall
Swirling all the way down
The book that I open
Is full of old fables
One has a princess
Trapped in the stables
Time passes swiftly
The stories all read
I’m still quite alone
It’s now time for bed
I gather my bag
With the book safely packed
So much is changing
Except for the fact
That autumn is here
With leaves falling down
There’s only the church
And me in this town
Leaves change their colors
And the sky becomes dark
So I head to my home
Through this beautiful park
