Breathing in spring
Watching the fireplace--
embers fading low--
the cabin shepherds in
the gusts.
I wrap the blanket,
bundle as a turtle,
wondering when
winter twists
into spring.
Hibernate
and build up compassion
as I recharge.
I'll breathe in the flowers' dew
when heat returns again.
